Lately, I’ve been thinking about some decisions I have made, or been influenced by, and I’m just so grateful, cause they make me happy and make my life easier.

  1. Buying my Macbook Pro, and selling my other computers. I’ve been wanting a laptop for a while for it’s mobility and power, I’ve been wanting a mac, because I’ve only heard good things about them and everyone seems to like them. It’s powerful and light enough for my needs. I love the 15″ screen, I would have really regretted getting the 13″ Macbook. I had a really nice windows desktop that I sold on craigslist, because Mandy bought me a mac mini which I loved, but wasn’t as portable as this thing. I upgraded the hell out of my mac mini and sold it on ebay. I’m still super glad I bought my macbook pro, it’s been really a pleasure.
  2. My 1080p Plasma Samsung TV. It’s been another best purchase because the picture quality for high def movies, shows, and regular tv is just stunning clarity. Along with saving space in our medium sized living room. This is a Mandy idea.
  3. Cutting the back legs off my desk and sitting it on the window ledge. This saves a huge amount of space again in our small guest room, and another of Mandy’s brilliant ideas.
  4. Switching to Wordpress. This is definitely up there as a super smart decision to make, and I’m glad I did, I feel like it’s just a better platform and much easier to use for me.
  5. Getting rid of the shed. I’m glad I did this cause I got rid of a shed that someone else was able to repair use (again thanks craigslist the free section). It also saves space and is now more ‘out of the way’. Once again, let’s thank the wife!
  6. Buying the Jeep Commander, now this isn’t super great cause it was the most expensive purchase, but at the same time it really is a great decision. This car has everything, sirius radio, blue tooth, rear camera, sunroof, moon roofs, dvd player, navigation, auto windshields, V8 Hemi, and a 6 disc mp3 player. I love that I don’t want to ‘add’ or ‘install’ anything on it. Oh, the other best thing, remote start!

Now you may say, well these are all really expensive things that you bought, and yes you’re right, but every time I use these things, I’m grateful for them, and everything about them. One thing missing from this list if you’re very astute is ‘the Tivo Series 3 HD’ I returned……which is what my next post is about…….

Well, hopefully it should be pretty transparent. I used this article on exporting expression engine to wordpress with some modifications (email me for help anyone). And after hours of using some old css code and some new code, I hope everything the general look should be pretty transparent. Well, it’s really been a long time coming. Expression Engine(EE) is great, don’t get me wrong, but it’s not adequate for my ‘uses’, it can do a lot of shit, in a really complicated fashion while, Wordpress(WP) can still do some of that complicated shit while making it much easier for me to understand and update. Some little things; categories and tags, can be really useful, but I never got to using them in EE. While WP has it real clean and simple right there on the side in the admin page. I believe I was able to port everything pretty successfully without a hitch, comments and all. But please if you see something you don’t like, please let me know.

  1. With Expression Engine you had to pay for a license.
  2. Wordpress from what Matt says will always be free, thanks Matt.
  • With EE you could have tinymce, but it was tricky
  • With WP, it’s built in and a life saver

I like how WP auto saves your posts, and in EE, it just wasn’t there. EE is supposedly working on the next great CMS, and I’m sure it’ll be great, but a simpler looking and as powerful CMS/blog software is #1 in my book.

Now I’m gonna install Leopard.

Update: Oh and let me know if my RSS Feeds acts up. Please subscribe to my rss feed here.
Update: Checking my rss feeds again

Then go over to the newly updated and refreshed HeyZeusAndMandy.org.  It’s bad ass, I’m excited and some more changes should come too.  If you know me subscribe to the feed.  Updates should happen more often with WordPress as the engine.

If you haven’t checked in a while…

have diminished radically over the past year or so. I’ve started working hard to get to a higher level, especially with the influence of public relations specialist at my side. She’s hard core, and very critical of my verbs, adjectives, nouns, and sometimes pronouns. I figured I would throw in those words because they are words you don’t hear so often. So everyone remember good grammar equals great sex.

One more day for AAA

yeah it’s coming back.  Last year we didn’t have a relapse of it, but it’s back for sure in ‘05.  This is how it works, you have to be a member of the site you can do that here.  I’ll provide you with the admin page later to create a post, then you can post about anything and everything you want.  Obviously no porn, but feel free to be as random as you like.  I’ll still be posting to keep things going of course.  Usually I like to keep it to one or two posts a day so keep an eye out for that.  If there’s something I don’t like I’ll email you, or just take the post down myself.  You’ll have the power to post pictures and pretty much any freelance work you want to do, or take credit for.
