I have finally figured out what the answer to life is.   Here it is:  Nothing Matters.  Let me extrapolate….

Nothing Matters, What I mean by this is all those things you worry about, or stress over, or try to be productive about doesn’t matter.  The ONLY thing that matters is what you enjoy sincerely.  For me it’s surfing, boating, fishing, spending time with friends.  All those heated discussions you have with people, all those things you have to be responsible for doesn’t define you.  Working 80 hours a week to get something done isn’t going to matter in 2 years from then.  Life is about enjoying anything and everything you can.  It’s about being happy with whomever you’re with and not caring about the rest.  I’ve really realized this that I’m happiest when I have great experiences with friends and family.  So this year I’m going to do whatever it takes to get the boat I want.  I’ll continue to purge whatever I can cause none of the stuff I have really matters.

Go create those memories cause those last forever not having stuff or fighting with people or stressing over anything cause none of that really matters….

Tony RobertsLast night I went with Sizzle, and his lovely girlfriend Ashley to Club Whispers (aka J.J. Whispers) the new Orlando Improv location on Tuesday nights.  The very funny comedian Tony Roberts (Tony Roberts MySpace Page / Wikipedia page) put on an amazing set!  He was recently on Def Comedy Jam on HBO, and is definitely an up and coming comedian.  Whispers is now acting as the location for the old Orlando Improv.  Acting as the new place in Orlando to hold live comedy, I appreciate the owner(s) for supporting live comedy!  I definetely recommend this place to anyone on a Tuesday night.  They have some really great acts (more big name acts coming) so you should definitely check it out!  Mike the host was hilarous, and a must see act.

Cleaning Condenser Coils of a RefridgeratorThis Wednesday Progress Energy came by and did a home energy evaluation, and I am very satisfied with their thorough results. It only took an hour and it’s free! Carlos the Cuban (I’m calling him that cause that was his name and he noticed I was of the Cuban decent), came to the house and asked what particularly I was interested in him checking out. I mentioned I was concerned my AC may have a leak, and was interested if my windows were leaking AC anywhere. Well luckily nothing was really outstanding. He mentioned my outside AC freon pipe was missing some insulation, and to be sure my Condenser coils of my fridge are clean cause if they’re not it’ll make my fridge run more and use more energy. As you can see in the picture, that’s all the crap that came off my condenser coils(Hannah was supervising as always)! I bought a Condenser coil brush, and cleaned the shit out of ‘em. Carlos said that the fridge was the 3rd, now the 4th (after the plasma tv) appliance that uses up the most energy. So, immediately I cleaned that shit, and I am glad I did. I’m going to do the same to the beer fridge outside. I really recommend this home energy evaluation cause they give you free CFL light bulbs and insulators for your outlets and light switches, a way to test the temperature of what your water heater is set to, and they explain all the programs they will compensate you for to save energy! It was really informative and I hope to take advantage of a few. I highly recommend anyone doing this, it was really educational and motivational to get your home energy bill really low!!

Lately, I’ve been thinking about some decisions I have made, or been influenced by, and I’m just so grateful, cause they make me happy and make my life easier.

  1. Buying my Macbook Pro, and selling my other computers. I’ve been wanting a laptop for a while for it’s mobility and power, I’ve been wanting a mac, because I’ve only heard good things about them and everyone seems to like them. It’s powerful and light enough for my needs. I love the 15″ screen, I would have really regretted getting the 13″ Macbook. I had a really nice windows desktop that I sold on craigslist, because Mandy bought me a mac mini which I loved, but wasn’t as portable as this thing. I upgraded the hell out of my mac mini and sold it on ebay. I’m still super glad I bought my macbook pro, it’s been really a pleasure.
  2. My 1080p Plasma Samsung TV. It’s been another best purchase because the picture quality for high def movies, shows, and regular tv is just stunning clarity. Along with saving space in our medium sized living room. This is a Mandy idea.
  3. Cutting the back legs off my desk and sitting it on the window ledge. This saves a huge amount of space again in our small guest room, and another of Mandy’s brilliant ideas.
  4. Switching to WordPress. This is definitely up there as a super smart decision to make, and I’m glad I did, I feel like it’s just a better platform and much easier to use for me.
  5. Getting rid of the shed. I’m glad I did this cause I got rid of a shed that someone else was able to repair use (again thanks craigslist the free section). It also saves space and is now more ‘out of the way’. Once again, let’s thank the wife!
  6. Buying the Jeep Commander, now this isn’t super great cause it was the most expensive purchase, but at the same time it really is a great decision. This car has everything, sirius radio, blue tooth, rear camera, sunroof, moon roofs, dvd player, navigation, auto windshields, V8 Hemi, and a 6 disc mp3 player. I love that I don’t want to ‘add’ or ‘install’ anything on it. Oh, the other best thing, remote start!

Now you may say, well these are all really expensive things that you bought, and yes you’re right, but every time I use these things, I’m grateful for them, and everything about them. One thing missing from this list if you’re very astute is ‘the Tivo Series 3 HD’ I returned……which is what my next post is about…….

I was watching Ugly Betty…(with Mandy of course, cause I wouldn’t watch it alone…..ok maybe I would).  Anyways there is a new character on the show but his real name is David Blue and he looks ridiculously familiar.  Was he not in our Fraternity Delta Upsilon?  If someone knows let me know.  On another note this post made me check Delta Upsilon’s UCF Chapter (seems like the site changes every year). Dikaia!!!………………….Upotheke!!!  Bet you haven’t heard that in a while.

Lindsay just saw the Hollywood Bowl show with some amazing seats (I’m very jealous).  Mandy’s even more jealous cause she actually saw John Mayer play the song #41 with the band.  It’s really nice when someone sees the band play live for the first time it’s really a different experience, and that goes for most live performances of any performer.  Lindsay’s gonna be that girl we can eventually say I know that girl, we’re like best friends, and she gives me money all the time cause she’s rich!  Anyways, back to seeing the Dave Matthews Band live, I’m up to 21 shows and every one is memorable and super fun and energetic.  I never understood that ‘the energy was awesome’ untill seeing live shows in general.  Now my top five of live performances (there may be more, but that’s all I remember).

  1. Jimmy Buffett at West Palm Beach (when it was called Mars Music Amphitheatre back in 1998, box seats, and it was my first concert ever!)
  2. Dave Matthews Band at West Palm Beach (again Mars Music Amphitheatre back in 1998, box seats, second concert)
  3. Dave Matthews Band at Central Park (the energy was amazing, and I can’t talk enough about it)
  4. Jason Mraz at House of Blues in Orlando (super fun show, he’s AMAZING live!!!)
  5. Bare Naked Ladies at TD Waterhouse (their improv songs are fucking amazing, and they’re super funny!).

Update:  Available for download the Dave Matthews Band show from Hollywood Bowl 10-02-2007 (192mb).
