Lately, I’ve been trying to purge my life of things I don’t need or use.  It’s been really good to sell or give away things we don’t really truly use.  It’s clutter, and we have enough storage problems with a wife that packs things worse than a rat (BTW, please help with Mandy’s Fundraising for her Marathon).  Anyways, we have gotten rid of the following things:  A treadmill, patio furniture, a sofa bed, an external hard drive, an airport express, a large dog cage, comic cards, 35mm film camera, a portable dvd player and DVD’s.  I’m still working on a selling  my comic book collection.  It feels good to get rid of things that are just laying around not being used to their full potential or often.  I’m a huge fan of the site Unclutter.com and enjoy reorganizing areas, and storage because our house is small enough as it is.  We’re also trying to make our design style minimalistic, which in general just looks better.

I’ve also realized the importance of “less is more” (I also finally get the linux joke in that too).  The less you have the easier it is (period).  A smaller car is easier to wash, same goes for a smaller dog, less house less storage, no trees no lawn maintenance, etc.  I appreciate the size of our house, it keeps our mess under control.

We’ve also been trying to realize that we don’t need ‘things’.  Things are just things, you can get more or less of them.  It’s funny growing up, all these things you were advised on make sense.

Tony RobertsLast night I went with Sizzle, and his lovely girlfriend Ashley to Club Whispers (aka J.J. Whispers) the new Orlando Improv location on Tuesday nights.  The very funny comedian Tony Roberts (Tony Roberts MySpace Page / Wikipedia page) put on an amazing set!  He was recently on Def Comedy Jam on HBO, and is definitely an up and coming comedian.  Whispers is now acting as the location for the old Orlando Improv.  Acting as the new place in Orlando to hold live comedy, I appreciate the owner(s) for supporting live comedy!  I definetely recommend this place to anyone on a Tuesday night.  They have some really great acts (more big name acts coming) so you should definitely check it out!  Mike the host was hilarous, and a must see act.

Mandy and I have been wanting to see the Our Body Exhibit at the Orlando Science Center for as long as it’s been around.   Florida Hospital graciously paid to have the exhibit extended…so thank you for that, otherwise we would have missed it.   It was really gross!  Ok, it’s not for the faint of heart, but it was really neat to see the human body in a completely different way.   If you’re into the ‘how it looks’ aspect of things or the ‘how it works’ aspect this is your type of exhibit!  I wish I would have remembered the audio tour you can download online.  We spent a good hour and a half reading and looking at everything.  Definetely worth seeing, if that sort of stuff doesn’t creep you out.  Last day is October 31st, before it moves on to another big city.

Driving around the UCF Arena.  Not sure if it was google, or microsoft, but it had cameras on the top of this station wagoon looking car.  I know Google uses the VW beetle, but I saw something, and that’s all that matters!

Update:  I’m a lying liar, it was the UCF Wireless Self Driving Car that navigates the City Streets.

Mc Cormick Cracker MealMandy and I went grocery shopping Sunday, and I have this delusion with the aisle where you can coat your food to fry. Each time I see it I look for cracker crumbs (it’s an ingredient my mom uses very often to fry things, it’s a cuban thing). Anyways, each time I walk by I look for cracker crumbs cause I seem to never have any, and I’ll fry anything. I’m gonna fry some pigs feet soon. The cracker crumbs are never fucking there! I’ll waste half my time looking for these cracker crumbs in this aisle (and I refuse to look else where)! I’m not sure where Publix hides them, maybe it’s the ‘ethnic’ section, but I don’t care cause I’m not gonna look there, why shouldn’t they be with the things other ingredients for frying?!?! Any reasoned person knows cracker crumbs are only used for frying (yes you can do other things, but what’s better than fried?) Publix, please put the cracker crumbs with the other items like shake and bake, bread crumbs, and other similar frying ingredients.

My parents came in town Friday afternoon, and we cooked dinner at the house, and watched a movie cause Saturday was a big day at Islands of Adventure.  We got there around noon and yes it was raining, it rained on and off most of the day.  We didn’t get caught to bad and lucked out most of the day.  My parents enjoyed IOA since they’ve never been.  After IOA we went to Melenia Mall and had dinner, and checked out something Mandy wants from Crate & Barrell.  We got home uber exhausted and passed out.  Sunday we woke up and my parents left around 11 and Mandy and I went grocery shopping.  After getting home from the grocery store I laid around all afternoon working on ‘theHourly’, and then played raquetball at 5 anialating James.  Mandy’s Taco Soup was delicous as always and I helped her put away the rest of laundry.  This was the Sunday afternoon I’ve needed for a while.
