First you can see ‘this is what I have’ list on the right and a short list of all the drinks listed.

HOW RAD IS THAT!?!??  It’s a great party starter, and I’ve used a number of times.  Definitely the best piece of software I have ever paid for!!  Best thing is they just came out with a Windows Version!

]]> http://heyzeus.org/how-we-can-clean-up-a-lot-of-the-economic-problems/feed/ The Avon Decent http://heyzeus.org/the-avon-decent/ http://heyzeus.org/the-avon-decent/#comments Sat, 09 Aug 2008 08:59:12 +0000 Zeus http://heyzeus.org/?p=721 And Sunday, I went to the great Avon Decent in the Swan Valley River very close to where I live.  This is a very popular two day Kayak race where about a thousand kayakers race down the river.  From what I hear it was very challenging this year because the river was much higher than previous years which caused lots of rapids to form.  There are a number of large rocks that one usually has to navigate around but this wasn’t so much the case this year.  The river was raging strong in some areas and kayakers were injured from slaming into the biggest rocks that were above the water line.  The area where we were was the roughest water and lots of kayakers tipped over and holding onto their kayak so it wouldn’t wash away.  It was incredible how some people were making it through the rapids and other were not so fortunate.  If you lost your kayak you had to be a strong swimmer and try to catch up with it, along with hoping it would slow down.  I saw a few Kayaks that were really banged up.  Most of the kayaks were the really long ones with a rudder and pedals.

After the Kayak race is the motor boat race where these 5 feet aluminum boats with out board motors race over these rocks with one man in the front checking for rocks and the other steering.  They sped by so the photos aren’t great.

The best part of this adventure was the bush walk!  When you go hiking in Australia it’s a bush walk, and boy did we go through some hairy areas!  It was incredible the trees and small streams we crossed to get where we needed to go.  It was awesome and I wish any of my good friends could have gone with me!  It was a beautiful hike and a beautiful day.  I was really fortunate to partake in this Aussie tradition.

]]> http://heyzeus.org/the-avon-decent/feed/ Fremantle Prison http://heyzeus.org/fremantle-prison/ http://heyzeus.org/fremantle-prison/#comments Fri, 08 Aug 2008 11:45:02 +0000 Zeus http://heyzeus.org/?p=719 This past Saturday I went to Fremantle Prison, something I’ve heard good and bad things about.  I took the regular tour and was blown away by how old the prison was, and how recently (1991) it closed!  I took a number of pictures.  And there’s a lot to talk about.  There was a fire that was planned by the prisoners which started a riot and lasted 72 hours, while in negotiations they wanted some baked beans to release the last hostage guard.  It was really interesting to see how small some of the cells where at one time and where they hung prisoners.  Along with where solitary confinement was.  The most interesting part was where they would punish inmates with the “Cat o Nine Tails“.

The tour was really worth it, and I’d highly recommend it.  I might even go back to go the under ground tour of the riverways, and the ‘Great Escape’ tour where they show you how 260 inmates tried to escape!  Enjoy the photos.  I again tried to add as many comments as I could in the pictures.

]]> http://heyzeus.org/ive-been-recruited-as-part-of-the-dharma-initiative/feed/ My new goal to be the Salsa Stripper King! http://heyzeus.org/my-new-goal-to-be-the-salsa-stripper-king/ http://heyzeus.org/my-new-goal-to-be-the-salsa-stripper-king/#comments Wed, 06 Aug 2008 11:03:05 +0000 Zeus http://heyzeus.org/?p=685 My new hobby is to be the Salsa Stripper King (SSK for short)!  {Just for Mandypants of course}.  So, on my new year’s resolution list (I know you’re tired of hearing about it).  I have been wanting to take dance lessons ever since Mandy and I did our lessons for our wedding dance.  I finally started, and I’m taking these dance classes twice a week here in Perth.  It’s been really fun to not think about work, and work on my motor skills and get my dance skillz up to a much better place.  It’s been something I’ve wanted to do for quite a while now, but now as an adult I have the confidence to do it and my give a shit meter is really low.  When I do something challenging like this I want to get really good.  In addition it’s a skill I should be already good at, but mostly it’s fun to have, especially for weddings! ;)  Anyways, the classes are great and my biggest challenge is learning how to lead.  I have a wife that is the queen of dance, and she won’t follow me, but she will with some practice.  I’m really glad I’m doing this and it’s helping pass the time.

]]> http://heyzeus.org/mandy-started-her-very-own-blog/feed/ Another New Year’s Resolution Horse Back Riding http://heyzeus.org/another-new-years-resolution-horse-back-riding/ http://heyzeus.org/another-new-years-resolution-horse-back-riding/#comments Sun, 06 Jul 2008 00:56:08 +0000 Zeus http://heyzeus.org/?p=636 Some people may not know this but a very close friend of mine had a horse and over the summers I’d go do the ranch thing.  I really enjoyed it because it was a super fun outdoor activity, and one of my favorite things to do was go on trails.   After 15 years I finally did it again and in of all places, Waneroo, Australia!  This has been on my new year’s resolution and I finally said I’m doing it!  It was $50 bucks for an hour and a half!  The trail was fantastic as we walked or troted next to packs of kangaroo’s.  I’m soo glad I did it!  Max was a great horse, just my style, laid back and mellow.

One of the best things I could have done was hack and jailbreak my iPhone.  I now have a company sim card in my iPhone that I’m using while I’m in Australia.  My personal cell phone has been suspended while I’m away so if you need to get a hold of me, email me and I can either call you back or email you my new number.
