Mandy and I lived in my cousin’s apartment right in the middle of one of the greatest cities!  We were there 4 days, and had more than our handful of walking a dog, walking around, and shopping.  It was quite an adventure being in a small apartment with over sized furniture and a 6 month old puppy.  It was fun, but definitely a lot of hard work and walking. We had a great time and I really appreciate my cousin letting us stay at his place. It’s an awesome place and he’s got a great dog. It was super fun to be able to walk everywhere and have some really good local food…and pizza! We really had a good time and didn’t do too much site seeing other than go to the famous Apple store and I bought Mandy a Tiffany’s Dragon Fly Pendant.  Also Critchet and his fabulous girlfriend Gina drove up from the D.C. area to hang out and visit with us!  We had one hell of night on the town Thursday Night.

We’ve really taken advantage of it, even if we just leave the dogs for the day.  Hannah gets to swim, Marle gets to play with other dogs, and they come home exhausted!  It’s really worth it and I’m glad I finally got the chance to see the place myself!.  The owners Michael and Corrina are super nice and have done a phenomenal job with every detail.  I’ve spoken extensively to the owners and they have done 5 years of research traveling around the country visiting Pet Resorts and talking to pet owners of what they liked and did not like about the pet resorts they were going to.  They have really done their homework.  It shows in the quality of everything they do, between limiting the number of dogs, and cats (because too many becomes unsafe for everyone), and being able to have a web cam to watch your dog from the web.  It’s incredible the amount of effort to detail and service.  I highly recommend this place to anyone with a pet.  It’s good exercise and the grooming service they do is worth it.  Best of all the price is very reasonable!!

]]> http://heyzeus.org/my-bubba-loves-his-new-cannon-powershot-sd850-is-digital-elph/feed/ Why I love dogs http://heyzeus.org/why-i-love-dogs/ http://heyzeus.org/why-i-love-dogs/#comments Sat, 08 Dec 2007 01:12:26 +0000 Zeus http://heyzeus.org/why-i-love-dogs/ My neighbor had a yellow lab, Jasper, that I loved like he was my own.  He was a great dog, who was very well behaved, and listened very well.  After that point I was hooked and said I wanted a dog as well trained as Jasper.  I knew I wanted a yellow lab also, because of Jasper and because my cousin breed labs, and I really enjoyed their demeanor all around.  Ever since I got Hannah 4 years ago, from the very beginning I trained her.  I was strict like Kyle, and used lots of repetition and simple praise.  She has been a great treat and still listens very well.  After getting married Marle came into my life and he didn’t have much direction, but now he too listens well and they’re both easy to manage if you say what you mean.  I read this tumble log and saw this video.  Now I’m not sure what this guy did, but he’s got an amazing dog, you gotta check it out….

]]> http://heyzeus.org/hannahs-tirade/feed/ An exhausting weekend http://heyzeus.org/an-exhausting-weekend/ http://heyzeus.org/an-exhausting-weekend/#comments Mon, 07 May 2007 12:36:00 +0000 Zeus http://heyzeus.org/wordpress/an-exhausting-weekend/ Hannah ShavedThis past weekend was exhausting for me.  It was uber productive, almost too productive.  I say that because Friday I left work a little early, and went to the grocery store, after dropping off the purchases, I went to happy hour with some drinks at TGI Friday’s.  After stumbling home, I did some things on both websites this one, and heyzeusandmandy.org.  Saturday morning Mandy and I went to Spider-Man 3.  I had sent out an email earlier in the week and invited a whole bunch of friends and NO ONE went!  Oh well, I know how much of a loser I am to see a movie at 9:45am.  Regardless it was a good movie, not great, but not bad.  There’s my Spider-Man 3 review.  After returning from the movie, I started trimming some trees in the yard, played raquetball, then returned trimming trees.  I stopped working in the yard and hot sun about 5pm.  That night I cooked dinner and we relaxed watching the Saturday Night HBO movie of The Break Up.  It’s a sad funny movie cause you really want to see them together in the end (but they left it open for maybe a sequel?).  Sunday I was up early helping Eric install his attic ladder.  It took only an hour to install, and I was back home to work on more tasks for my house.  Mandy was up by then, and together we finally put away the rest of our wedding gifts, and got rid of more previously owned items (like old plates, silverware, an old blender, etc.).  It’s great cause the house is finally back together, looking orderly (it feels good).  After organizing the kitchen, I decided the wash down the back porch.  My intentions were to pressure wash it with my neighbor’s pressure washer, however the piece of shit didn’t start.  So I resorted to my hose and finger, and created my own pressure washer.  Not exactly the same pressure but it works.  After that Mandy and I were talking about shaving Hannah, I made a phone call and they were able to take her right away.  We hope this helps with the shedding, she looks a little funny, but it’s really not to bad.  I was really against shaving her, but I think it be helpful.  After dropping Hannah Banana off, I played James again in raquetball.  When I returned home, Mandy had started writing her Thank You cards….finally!  We left again to return a gift to Bed Bath & Beyond, and to pick up groceries at Target.  Finally with picking up Hannah we returned home and cooked dinner.   It was a long productive weekend, and well worth all the effort.  Next weekend for Mother’s day we’re taking momma Miriam to Disney!Hannah Shaved

It was really nice to see everyone so happy for us, we had a good time listening to Spanish music and dancing out on the back porch with lots of ‘cuban’ food. Marle and Hannah had a good time with the family also, Hannah didn’t want to stop swimming in the pool.
