My parents came in town Friday afternoon, and we cooked dinner at the house, and watched a movie cause Saturday was a big day at Islands of Adventure.  We got there around noon and yes it was raining, it rained on and off most of the day.  We didn’t get caught to bad and lucked out most of the day.  My parents enjoyed IOA since they’ve never been.  After IOA we went to Melenia Mall and had dinner, and checked out something Mandy wants from Crate & Barrell.  We got home uber exhausted and passed out.  Sunday we woke up and my parents left around 11 and Mandy and I went grocery shopping.  After getting home from the grocery store I laid around all afternoon working on ‘theHourly’, and then played raquetball at 5 anialating James.  Mandy’s Taco Soup was delicous as always and I helped her put away the rest of laundry.  This was the Sunday afternoon I’ve needed for a while.

The end of a great Sunday

Heh, I sat in on Alex’s talk about ‘The Orlando Scene’ which was entertaing, motivational, and inspirational to get the Orlando tech and non tech people together. CoWorking is an awesome idea, and I hope to be a part of it real soon. Florida Creatives is another group of individuals that have meet ups to talk about whatever (blogs, tech, clothes, or anything you want). It’s really cool, and I’ve been a few times. There’s also LikeMind which meets once a month on a Friday (see Ryan’s Comment). Now while Alex was talking I sat in his seat with his MacBook Pro in front of me. I wanted to see what cool programs he had and was going to use Quicksilver to open the applications folder. Low and behold he didn’t even have quicksilver installed, shame shame!

Now for Blog Orlando, it was a really great experience, and I enjoyed meeting new people and hearing very knowledgable people about subjects I know only a moderate amount. I went to most of the tech sessions. There was some good discussions and lots of local business wanting to get into the blogsphere and marketing to that crowd. I recommend to anyone to go next year.

Now for BarCampOrlando it’s a different realm, it’s different because the subjects varied greatly. We also didn’t know the subjects before hand (which I’m not a complete fan of), but they varied from Adobe’s web development, to simulation robots, to talks about java script. It’s a good experience and I also recommend it to others.

If you don’t know the King of Code’s Birthday is today.  A big round of applause via email would be nice.  And remember the Best Resume Builder site out there is Emurse.com

So as you know, I’ve been wanting a Tivo Series3 for a while now, and well, the itch has become more like a burn and it won’t go away. Since they’ve announced the Tivo Series3 HD for $300 bones, I’m leaning towards it as my ‘first tivo’ purchase for the bedroom.  Now, calm down tivo guys (I’m talking to you Celly & Gavin ), I plan on getting the full blown Tivo Series3 for the living room, but I think this is good start for me…baby steps…  Anyways, Best Buy has it for $300, and I have about $80 in gift cards that I’ve been saving up for something like this.  Amazon.com has the Tivo Series3 HD for $265.  I know I could get it cheaper at Best Buy in the end, but that $80 in gift cards could go towards something else closely related?  I’m not sure what to do. I’ve called BestBuy’s online store asking about price matching and they don’t do it against Amazon.  I wonder if someone would do an exchange of $80 in Amazon.com gift card for my Best Buy gift card.  Don’t they have a site for that?  I’ve seen where you can buy gift cards, but exchange them?  Hrmm….Well a quick google search gives me http://www.plasticjungle.com.  I’ll let you know what I decide.

It was a great night in sports last night, so yesterday, I played 4 games of Raquetball during lunch, beating Mr. James Kawas 15-2, 15-3, 15-6, and 21-8 (our last game James wanted to play to 21).  That afternoon I had a soccer game where I had an assist and a goal, with a close game ending 3-2 with the other team winning.  Following the soccer game I had a 9pm raquetball league game against Derek, it was a close game with 11-8, and 11-10 he played a great game and I just wasn’t up to his level.  I’m pretty tired today, but it was worth all the time spent.
